SPEAKER_00Hey, let me tell you this much. The Melbourne Motor Show got two and a half times or three times the people uh Sydney everything electric does. So we've got the crowds, might not all be EVs, but hey, we've got we've got the crowds for sure.
SPEAKER_02You got the crowds. Melbourne's Melbourne loves their events, they'll go to any.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you've got the crowds, you've got the coffee, you've got the Australian Open, Formula One, Formula One. Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_02The list goes on and on. We've got beaches. Um take the win, Melbourne. Take the win. We've got the weather in Sydney. Um, they should be good in September. iCAUR V25 E-Rev Launch
SPEAKER_02Um, so should be good. Should be very good indeed. So make sure you join us in Sydney for the Everything Electric Show. Now, speaking of iCar, look at this. So, ICAR. I I initially thought this was actually written uh well spelled Ace I C A R, but Joy looked this up earlier. Why it's now A-C-A-U-R.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they just don't want to get into trouble, like a potential trouble with uh trademark disputes with Apple. So apparently in China it's still iCar. But yeah, fair enough.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, iCOR iCar uh will be launching in Australia, I believe, at the Everything Electric Show. Um, we have mentioned this a few times on the stream. Let's have a look at these pics. So it's that boxy kind of you know uh SUV, which uh, if priced correctly, could be very, very compelling, right, guys?
SPEAKER_01Is that a spare tire I see on the back?

SPEAKER_02There you go. Not many EVs have a spare tire. Um is a bit of a stick there.
SPEAKER_00What's there to say there's a spare tire in there?
SPEAKER_03Charging cables, it's a case for charging cables. Usually just very good.
SPEAKER_00But good point, Joy.
SPEAKER_02That's a good point. It could be a spare steering wheel, you never know. Um but uh that's what the interior looks like. I mean, you know, Chinese car, you'd expect that this day and age. I love the interiors. I see some buttons there or dials or something in the corner. But uh yeah, looking very good. Then the rear row looks good as well. So what is this? Is that a what is that?
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's a grab hat. Come on, if you're gonna be off-roading in this, you need a place to grab onto.

SPEAKER_00And right it these cars have nine driving modes, including a mud and a dirt mode. So there are soft roaders, not officially off-roaders, but they are very fun in the mud.
SPEAKER_02I'm hoping there will be a test today or media day off-road. I mean, it's that kind of asking for it, isn't it? Any any guesses as to price, guys? What do you reckon?

iCAUR potential V25 Pricing & Specs
SPEAKER_00Sorry.
SPEAKER_02So let's let's have a look. Uh, I there wasn't much yet. Yeah. Wasn't much in the press release.
SPEAKER_00V25 is a plug-in hybrid. Uh it has uh, I think a 30-odd kilowatt hour battery pack. Um, and it's it's actually an eRev. Uh but they do have other models like the V23 that's a bit smaller, um, that hasn't been confirmed for Australia because the V25 has in Q1 next year. Um the V23 is fully electric, and I've had a chance to drive both of them in mud. They are very fun cars, and the e-rev um the bigger brother to this, the V27, which is also an eREV, um, they yeah, they do drive like EVs. I mean, a V23 is a fully bev model, which is sold in Thailand. Um, but this is the first model we're going to get, and this model hasn't even been released in China yet.
SPEAKER_02Look, I don't mind an e-rev, like you know, philosophically, it's still uh the electric motor is still driving the wheels. You know, I guess the engine is a backup. So I like the Leak Motor C10 E Rev, uh, and the X Pangs also have their Reeves as well. So I don't mind. It's a step above Fev, I guess. Um, but yeah, hopefully the the full EV will come. Uh hopefully it's cheaper than 48888. I mean, it's a great number, but you'd hope it'd be cheaper. Um, and Baz is saying I expect on par or cheaper than the tank 300 F.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Tank 300 is getting up to 50 grand now. So this is um it'd be cool if it could be sort of that 45 to 50,000 range because I think just the the look factor of these cars will convince a lot of people to get behind the wheel of one.
SPEAKER_02Agreed, yeah, like the Shark 6, right?
SPEAKER_01I was just gonna say, yeah, yeah. That same
BYD M9 People Mover Confirmed
SPEAKER_01sort of um target market.
SPEAKER_02All right, we'll keep an eye on that one at the Everything Electric Show, and uh quickly uh it was spotted as well. There we go. Uh charging at the Goblin supercharger, 20 stalls in Goblin. So, how much was the battery again? 30 kilowatt hours, right?
SPEAKER_00You said I think around about 30 kilowatt hours for for this side thing, does 150 to 180 kilometers of range?
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, that's good. 30 kilowatt hours, you know. Quick top up, away you go. Now, sorry, one more bit of FEV news. Um, the all new BYD M9 people mover also confirmed for Australia. This looks very much like the Denzer D9, but it's a FEV. So, yeah, that big people mover segment is definitely hotting up. Uh, we got a chance to
BYD Ocean Series MPV Concept
SPEAKER_02drive the X Plung X9 this week, which is phenomenal. Really enjoyed it, so we'll look out for that video. Um, anyone driven the D9 yet? The Denzel D9?
SPEAKER_00Uh I have, yeah. It's it's it's nice, um, but of course it's better in the back seats of that car. This car is slightly different though, because this is in China it's known as the BYD Shi XIA, and this is going straight for Kia Carnivals and sort of that current ice uh people mover space.
SPEAKER_02Indeed. Yep, families getting bigger, houses getting more expensive, people are not moving out of home. We need those big cars. So I think uh I think that's a good good move for these big cars to come. Uh a lot of them have like that rear wheel steering as well, making it easier to maneuver. Right. Um now I put this up because I wanted to show this article uh from CNNV post. Uh BYD exec says ocean lineups first
BYD Tang Flagship SUV Launch
SPEAKER_02MPV may launch by year end. Uh this is a concept car, but it does guys remind me very much of the um what was the Zika one called again? Mix the mix, that's it. Yep. So yeah, if they can make something like that affordable, that would be very cool.
SPEAKER_01Why didn't they follow their like animal naming theme? It should have been the whale. What's this called? I don't know, ocean isn't ocean.
SPEAKER_03Ocean V concept.
SPEAKER_01It's like the whole ocean, shouldn't it be an animal?
SPEAKER_00It it will be when it comes with its official name, oh well, official model name, because this is part of the ocean series. So in China, BYD is split into two different sub brands. There's the dynasty series, and then there's the ocean series.
SPEAKER_01Um this will get it will get a yeah, ocean animal name and a Galtic name.
SPEAKER_02We get the export like ocean line, like you know, seal and shark. Yeah, so we'll get something memorable name, a beluga, maybe you know, something big orca.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. It does look like a big car.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the the guppy says travel and Tassie, and uh it's a funky looking car. BYD pufferfish. There you go. Some options there. Yeah, yep. So yeah, cool. Hopefully we'll get to see that uh come to light. Uh just sticking a BYD. Uh the Tang. This is their flagship SUV. This is definitely a reality. Launch set for Q4 very soon. Um yeah, it looks like a really big car, this one. Third generation.
SPEAKER_00This I think also has BYD's next generation interior styling, or the way the interior is laid out. I don't know if these guys have a photo of it, but it looks pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02Let's see if I can scroll down.
SPEAKER_00No, no, it doesn't. So so basically they will have if you I think I'm I'm sure you've seen uh well, you both have done videos of the IX3 Noir class and that hyper screen thing that they have at the back, like a full-width heads-up display sort of uh layout. BYD is gonna go for something similar as well. So I think this is the first model to get that sort of um screen on the inside and that's screen tech. So yeah, I think we will be preparing ourselves for that screen to sort of be the mainstream infotainment system that you will see in BYD's premium and luxury models.
SPEAKER_01What do you guys think of the two-tone trim where it's like you know, the top half is a different color from the bottom half of the car?
SPEAKER_03Trying to be a Bentley, yeah. Ooze is luxury.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say it's it's becoming the trend, right? Two-tone. Um I don't know. I I I'm still mixed feelings about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know how to feel about it. Yeah, like I don't hate it, but I don't like it. I just I I I just don't know what to think about it. I'm I I think it just confuses me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, in the right two colors, it can go really well. So I think usually it's like um the black with the gold, which is what you know sometimes you see in Maybax. But the white and the green, I'm not sure what's going on there. It feels like they forgot to take like the um the wrapping off.
SPEAKER_02Well, well, Max is saying that yeah, the Ion UT currently has it, and that that was the test car we had at the two-tone. And yeah, I I must admit it did look like a taxi um having that white on top. You're gonna say something?
SPEAKER_01Well, the I mean the EX2's got the black on top, the GLE. Yes, that doesn't like look as odd, I think. But there's something about white on top, maybe.
SPEAKER_02But it does make it look taxi le taxi-like. Um, the black on top is sometimes a problem in hot climates, I guess, right? So could be an issue. Uh yeah, good for hot weather, says John. Uh white hat. I agree. Yeah. It I don't know. We'll see. I don't I don't mind the Ion UT in those two tones, so maybe.
SPEAKER_01The IM have two-tone as well. One of the one of the IMs I thought had I can't remember now.
SPEAKER_02I know Zika 7X can come in two-tone.
SPEAKER_00Maybe that's what the blue is the most iconic uh two-tone car that I can think of. I think mini did that quite a lot. Uh, with their sort of racing colours back in the day, the original minis, and then I think BMW has taken that on as well. So um, yeah, two-tone can work, and I think the Honda Super One comes in some sort of a two-tone situation if you're lucky enough to secure one off two that are coming to this country this year. Just
Geely Hits 20,000 Deliveries in Australia
SPEAKER_00get the purple, don't worry about two-tone.
SPEAKER_02Gotta get the purple, purple in and purple inside and outside, and uh good spot by Tazzy. Uh, the door handles are mechanical, looks like not pop-out, which is good. Uh, I don't mind if it's like, you know, um, if it's still flush on top, but it's recessed, so you can just stick your hand underneath and pull it up. Still got the arrow advantage to it. Uh yeah, actually, smart's got that too. The Brabus has got two tones, it's like right and black, right? For the smart EVs. Yeah. Al Darrow says wrapped his top of his gray 7X black, like the Euro model. Nice one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think as Riz says, it it depends on the combination of colours. That's very important if you're doing two-tone.
SPEAKER_02Correct. Yeah, yeah. See if your model Y is wrapped in two-tone as well. Yep. Uh now, moving on. Speaking of G Lee EX2, but just the brand in general. So G Lee has achieved 20,000 deliveries in less than two months. Sorry, less than 18 months. Two months is incredible. 18 months is pretty good too. I can't believe the EX5 only launched 18 months ago. That's honestly China time, right? Um, we were just thinking about Joe and I the other day on how much has happened in the two last two years in this space. Like, think back to 2024. Uh, a lot has happened. So pretty impressive. Um, 20,000 is no mean feat in Australia. So well done, Gili. Good work.
SPEAKER_01And they're becoming a household name too, up there with BYD. Yep. I think so. People know the name Gili or Geely. I I think people saying Geely. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know Gili mine, they can call them whatever they want as long as they sell cars.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. But but the name is Gili, for just for the record. In Chinese, it's like pronounced Gili. Gili.
SPEAKER_01Well, I I think Hyundai and Hyundai is pronounced a million different ways as well. True, true. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Again, they don't care either, they just want to sell cars. Uh Max says G EX5 is looking very competitive. Man, I'm I'm looking forward to the real drive version of the EX5. Can't wait.
SPEAKER_00My only thing is Gili if you're listening. Fix your bings and bongs. Like in new cars, we should not have that. So I'm currently driving a Verizon Man, and it's Gili owned, and you cannot drive that car without switching through like six different toggles to turn everything off before you even start put it in drive. So, Gili, please, local tuning, local enhancements, and no more of you know, one button to try and mute them all, or it's an NCAP requirement because Tesla, XPeng, and BMW, they can all do it.
SPEAKER_02And even
XPeng ANZ Takes Over Australian Operations
SPEAKER_02the um GWM um Aura 5, once you switch it off, it's actually staying off, which is I was very surprised by that. So yeah, definitely not an NCAP requirement. So just please listen to feedback Julie has Riz said, and um other brands too. Uh BYD have actually you can switch off BYD now, I think, can't you? From memory?
SPEAKER_00Yes, and BYD's the last the seal six I drove. Um, they it was very, very subtle, and it they've they've they've implemented a lot of things the owners have told them. So they can do it, Gili, you can do it.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Toyota Subaru, just the name name a few, you can switch off. Well, there's no ADAS, so that's pretty good.
SPEAKER_01But with Toyota platform, you've got to slow down and then you've got to press hold. So there are other issues. Other issues, correct.
SPEAKER_02Um oh, and EV reviews says uh Zika 7X switches off permanently too. So good. That's good to hear. So that that's a that's a yearly brand.
SPEAKER_03So there you go.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah. I mean, look, there are shortcut toggles for the EX5, EX2. Um, swipe down, boom, boom. MGS5 that we have. You can swipe down as well and switch it off. But it is every drive, unfortunately. All right. Uh speaking of XPang, actually, let's put this up because it's now official. This is actually released by XP A and Z themselves, Factory. Um, they are standing behind every X Peng customer that have ever bought an XPang in Australia, and they move on, move forward under direct operations following the end of its distributor agreement with True EV. So, this is the first formal statement from Factory. So, standing by every customer, uh, $5,000 cashback promotional campaign offers, 10-year warranty promotional campaign, complementary schedule, maintenance pro promotional campaign offers, and other miscellaneous promotional and campaign offers. So that's good to see factory coming in and taking care of existing XPeng owners. Um, and we did speak to a um XP dealer today in Sydney, in fact, the first one in Sydney that's opened. Uh, so watch our video, won't give away that much info just yet. But um, they said they are ready to take uh, you know, feed well not feedback, but they're ready to receive existing X Peng customers for service and parts and so on if they need anything.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep. You don't have to, obviously, because they've only just come up. You don't have to have actually got your X Peng from there. If you've got an X Peng already, they're happy to look after you. Yep, yep.

SPEAKER_02The screen, yeah. Enjoy the YL. It's a great car. Uh I believe YL is that more than 50% of Y sales last month, Riz, were YLs.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was, and um keeping a close eye to see what happens this month. Uh, whether that was uh sort of uh you know early adopters picking up or this car is a huge success, it's priced right. We've spoken about this before, and um yeah, let's uh we'll have more numbers, I think, next week.
SPEAKER_02No, we we love that car. I mean, we we had six in a car for dinner on Saturday night was fantastic. It's such a good car. Um going down car parks in Sydney. Love it.
SPEAKER_00Um, you can't just go down car parks in Sydney and pick up random people to fill up your six leader, man. It doesn't work that way.
SPEAKER_02Hey, we're charging them, don't worry. Um, it's not for fun.
SPEAKER_00Hey, as long as you're paying the paying, you've got to pay the um depreciation.
SPEAKER_02Come on. Yes. Um, just sticking with X Pang briefly. Uh C NEV post says X Pang to launch G9L in September, which is next month, and Mona L05 in quarter four. So nice, nice. G9L, lots of uh content already online, I can see from the launch. It's a great car. Great uh it's still five seats, but it is a long wheelbase, very long car.
SPEAKER_00I believe the international launch is next month in uh next month? Yeah, I think it's next month or October in Paris, whenever the Paris Motor Show is happening. Oh yeah, yeah. So that's going to be pretty cool. And one more bit of slightly local X Peng news. I'm already seeing in my social media feed local X Peng dealers starting to take register for well expression of interest on the XPeng LO3, which we have seen in Tom and Joy and Roland's videos from the launch last month. So it appears that LO3 is
XPeng L03 and G9L Updates
SPEAKER_00gearing up and dealers are already taking orders on top of the G6 and the X9.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think LO3 is the one that we're looking at. It's uh it's pretty compelling, not too big, looks fantastic. Supercar standard, right, Riz? They told us we were there in Guangzhou and Beijing.
SPEAKER_01I'm interested in the brains. I want to know how many chips it has.
SPEAKER_02How many chips? Yeah, three Turing chips, one Turing chip. And the price, right, uh Roland for the ultra spec. We want to know top spec only.
SPEAKER_03How much you start at that spec and you stop there.
SPEAKER_02There is nothing else. He says, Yeah, and and John, I agree. They uh there's no confirmation for the P7, but man, that looks that looks great. That car, the P7. So watch this space, you never know.
Audi Q4 e-tron Pricing
SPEAKER_02Um, and moving on, Audi. Audi's back. Well, not back, but Audi's got new pricing on the e-tron. Um, and this is what it looks like the new Etron um Q4 Etron. There you go. Uh, 4.5 meters. I looked it up before we started. Um, maybe even LO3 kind of size, kind of looks like an LO3 too, in some ways. Sporty fastback. And the pricing is not bad. I'll just scroll back up here. There we go. Starting from 71 grand all the way to the quattro uh sport back, 83 grand. So not terrible for an Audi.
SPEAKER_03You just have to remember European car. Sorry, it's UFS. No, no, no, you got sorry, Roland. I was gonna say there's possibly a list of options for you to add with it being a European car.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you you you you get the steering wheel, I'm pretty sure still, so yeah, head on from there.
SPEAKER_00It it is, isn't it? And like the the it's funny, Roland, you mentioned that I was looking at the new IX3, the more affordable model that is coming, not Roland spec, but the more affordable one that's coming. And I was looking at the sort of the options list. I think some paint options are like seven and a half grand on a ninety thousand dollar car. So yeah, um, I think once you tick a couple of those uh boxes, I think you'll be getting over a hundred.
SPEAKER_02Uh it is an Audi. Um, I'm hoping this has got the new VW software. I I we don't know. It doesn't say I don't think in this press release. But if it does, it you know, it could be worth looking at. Still, it is an Audi, still got that uh prestigious tag to it. People still love you know stuff, still love looking at I mean the software looks okay there, it's hard to tell.
SPEAKER_01I just like that the seats are kind of like hugging you a bit. Yeah, that always makes me like hopeful that the car like can um go fast and um yeah, turn corners well, which you would hope.
SPEAKER_02You hope so. Every VW we've driven has been pretty good, right? From an EV point of view. So there we go. We'll uh keep an eye out. Hopefully, Audi will be nice to us and supplies with the press one to drive. Um, okay. Let's take some comments from the audience. Uh so Necro says all the info I found on the LO3, that's the X Pung LO3, says only the top trim or wheel drive will get the three chips. That seems to be the going rumor at the moment. Uh and agree, says Necro. Yep. Um Kankang is confident P7 will come to Australia. Didn't sell well in China after LO5. It's P7's turn for Australia. Yeah, I mean, look, the best-selling expans are the monas, right? The LO3, you know, what is it? Uh MO3. Um, and hoping the LO3 will re-re-create that as well. Um, so we'll see. We'll see. All right, let's keep pushing on. And the next one I want to talk about is uh the Genesis Genesis G V90 flagship coming to Australia. Isn't it? No, just launching in general, I think globally.

SPEAKER_02So here we go. This looks like quite a long wheel-based car. Sorry about the scrolling. Looks pretty plush as you'd expect with the Genesis. I'm pretty sure that's a concept, right? That picture.

SPEAKER_02The original EV9, the Kia EV9 had that as a concept, but never eventuated, unfortunately. You asked me off camera, was will there be a magma?
SPEAKER_01I know. I mean, why not? If there's a Kia, you know, GT, so yeah.

SPEAKER_00What's going on there? Like that's not a passenger screen, that's not a two screens, one for the driver and passenger, it's just one screen.
SPEAKER_03I think from memory that's motorized. I think I was watching all the videos.

SPEAKER_00I think is it is it Zika 9X level? Like, if you look at that car, you think this is a two million dollar car at 130,000 or whatever it's gonna launch at. Is this look like a two million dollar car? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, I don't know. I mean, you drove it uh Joy recently, the GB60, the new magma?
SPEAKER_01I mean, I have to say the magma one was fun. Um I would say fun first, luxury second, but it was I was just giggling at the at the fun of it. Yeah, but I mean it's it's still it's still luxury, but I guess because we're now spoilt by what we get in the Chinese brands, which is just kind of like standard, um there isn't that sort of gap anymore, if that makes sense. Like you just sort of get into it and then you're like, well, I was kind of expecting that. Like this is kind of like bare minimum. This is not luxury, you know, this is just what I expect in a 40,000, $50,000 car.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. You're right. I mean, the the lines are being blurred, right, for luxury premium. Um, and the Chinese certainly are disrupting, as Riz said with the 9X and every brand. Like we just saw the BYDs with the with the da tongue and you know, X Pang's got the X9. And uh it's it's hard, it's a hard sell.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, I I never got over the fun of the disco ball. Like just have having that sort of like open up. I I felt like a like a villain in a movie. It was just like it was so perfect. It just I don't think it's almost worth the price, I think, to be able to do that every time you drive because you can do like an evil, like an evil laugh every time you you set off. So it makes every drive fun.
SPEAKER_02Just don't wear out that ball too much. I don't know how much it's gonna cost to um replace that. Um says not much of a premium over the Kia Hyundai, so it might be worth it for the extra luxury. Okay, fair enough. Yeah, look, they are nice cars. If you got the money, go for it. You won't be on you won't be unhappy with these cars, right? That's the thing. That's the thing.

Mazda 6E 5-Star ANCAP Rating
SPEAKER_02for a far more affordable car, the all electric Mazda 6E, which we have in our possession at the moment, uh, the Atenza spec receives a five-star ANCAP rating. Yay! Well deserved. Great car. Uh rear wheel drive, sedan, low to the ground, very sporty. I love it. I love driving that thing.
SPEAKER_01Um those are high numbers actually, 93% adult occupant protection. So, and charm occupant protection as well. That's yeah, that's almost like Tesla numbers, so it's very good. Yep, yep. And this is the new 2026 radius as well. So there you go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, on our thumbnail I put uh Japanese and inverted commas. I'm not sure if some people got the joke. Um, it's not, I mean, it's Japanese mark, but it's it's a Chinese car underneath. It's a DPAL, right? Basically, it's a Chang'an build. Um, so but with Mazda styling. Mazda style. What's it called? Kodo. Kodo design, right? What's it called? Kodo design, yeah. Kodo, thank you. Yep. Yeah. Um, all right, so that's Mazda.
KGM Musso EV Ute Safety Feature Recall
SPEAKER_02And now, someone mentioned about the KGM Musso before. This is the U the KGMuso EV. Uh, there's just a note on the ANCAP safety ratings, I think, or just a little point. Um, they're pretty pretty big point. Big point. Okay, not little point, big point. Um, they were advertised as having a center airbag and driver-knee airbag, but they're actually absent from all locally supplied vehicles. And existing customers are advised that emission of these safety features may have an effect on occupant safety in frontal and side impact crashes. Fair enough. Anyone driven this yet? I don't think I've seen any on the road. Maybe they've seen me. I've not seen it.

SPEAKER_00Now they reckon there's 303 affected vehicles, which means there's 303 of them somewhere.

SPEAKER_01I think product needs to look at this product very carefully before they um but I'm glad, you know, and cappa there actually, you know, looking through everything, even for um, you know, for like a brand like this that isn't sort of selling thousands, like they still look at it and go, hang on, like, you know, because it's that's 300 people that you know need to know about this. So I'm glad that they've picked it up.
SPEAKER_00I think the way it would have it might have been picked up is someone was digging deep and they said, Oh, this is a safety issue, I better reported to ANCAP. And then ANCAP's like, Yeah, we've done all our research. What we're saying is that we've picked it up, but no, it it could be a possibility. But 300 people are impacted. You're right, Joey.

SPEAKER_02come according to Rollins ADR research. Uh passenger variant has been approved for ADRs.
SPEAKER_03Yes, coming soon. Very exciting. It's a compact people mover, let's call it that, because it's under 4.7. And I actually was looking at the spec size, so it is actually slightly shorter than my Model Y, five center model Y, that is. So that probably gives everyone an indication of how compact that actually is.
SPEAKER_02And look, the commercial pricing is not bad either, right? Now for 61, as you said, the 61 grand drive away is pretty good if you've got a business with a van that's you know, it's not going to tell a lot, doesn't have a huge payload, but it's you know it's still great for driving around the city for deliveries and maybe for a coffee cart or for flowers or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I was surprised at how smooth the drive was. Like I was expecting it to be a really bumpy ride in terms of the suspension. Um, and it was lovely. Like I I didn't feel like I was in a van at all in the Pv5. So I can imagine that's gonna translate really well to this passenger version too. Because yeah. Um beat in another van in that last row and was not fun. I don't get car sick, but I got car sick. So yeah, I'll be very interested to sit in the back row of this one and see how it feels.
SPEAKER_02And compared to the Verizon that Riz is driving, I think this one drives far superior. Um Verizon can be a bit bumpy, right, Riz?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I had this last week for for a fortnight. It's really, really good. And as Joyce said, it has it's really comfortable. Um, Verizon is more of a proper commercial van, with like I think 1.2 or 1.3 ton payload. Um, it has got quite a lot of width in the back, so you can put proper pallets in there. So, yeah, that's more of a real sort of commercial work van. Uh, where this I think key has done probably a lot of work with the European uh design and development team, because in Europe, of course, you've got Peugeot with their expert and e-expert series and partners at Reynolds and the rest that are more geared towards comfort. Um, so yeah, I think the the passenger version should be really cool and interesting to see, depending on, as we said, the pricing. Um, and that sort of the length of it is uh it's it's pretty good, it's not super long.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the suspension in the rear row of these vans are very important. Um Model YL, the back is fantastic with the software suspension. Um, you can adjust it to rear comfort. Uh, but yeah, other other six seaters have sat in, not so good in the back. So very important. Uh yeah, Donald, good point. Uh, this could be a taxi with wheelchair access. I mean, this is a great application for this kind of van. It looks great as well, very futuristic. So keep an eye on it. Oh, Roland, I just realized there's
Chery Lepas L6 Midsize SUV

SPEAKER_02Yep, yep. Definitely smaller than Model Y. Uh, almost MGS5 or G Lee EX5 kind of length. EX5. Yep. Yeah, it's getting harder to differentiate them, all isn't it? Um, I mean, from the back, it could be a Zika 7.

I think this will come with a 60-odd kilowatt hour battery pack, um 450 kilometers of range, but I think that will be closer to 400 on the WLTP cycle. And um Q4 launch, so it's only a couple of months away. Um and it will in China it's available as uh well, sorry, it's available in two powertrains, BEV and um, I think they're their equivalent EREV. Um, but we're only getting the BEV model. Um and given it's sister car, the Omoda J5 or JQ, Moda JQ J5EV, um be hopefully seeing this in 40 to 45,000 price bracket.
SPEAKER_02I hope so. It'll be very compelling if it is. Max is saying Cayman Vives, high prize. Uh EV review saying LePass opening dealership in every state. That's good. Hopefully Tazy as well. Yep, L6 must be 35,990. Wow. If it is, it'll be good. Let's make it 35888. Why not? Um BYD at the front says Senecro. Okay, maybe. I was thinking actually MG S6 almost, maybe uh yes, LePas is Cherry, that's correct. Yes. Yes. Uh yeah. Dexter says we'll be interesting to see how this goes. SPEAKER_01Thing is, I think with their other cars, they kind of have a very distinctive look. Like the Jayku has a very distinctive look. The iCore iCar has a very distinctive look. So I think that one will do well. But this one doesn't like it. Yeah, it kind of looks like a mishmash of all the other kind of like yeah, compact SUVs. So I don't know. I don't think it'll catch people's imagination the same way like the JQ did. I could be wrong because it's just a price, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02It's a price. You're saying it doesn't stand out enough like the JQ, J5.
SPEAKER_00There is one element of this card that we haven't seen yet, which is probably what's gonna make it stand out quite a lot. It's the colours it comes in. There is purple, there is a Lamborghini yellow, there's a whole lot of very, very unique, interesting colours that I've seen in China. And if any of them come here, I think that's what could make it stand out compared to the rest of the vehicles in this segment. It's like that orange. Remember, X-Pen had that orange and it really caught on with G6? I think something similar could happen here with this car, but yeah, we'll see if they bring any of those colors here.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Oh, we still see that G6 orange, orange one driving around our neighborhood. It definitely stands out. Yeah. Um, I mean, I I think you know, EVs are different anyway. Why not lean into it? Just make the colours different. Now, speaking of uh which uh the Rivian is still driving around Victoria, it looks like. Uh spotted again this week on Facebook.
SPEAKER_03Yes, one of I think it was there was only a handful. That's one. And in the comments in that Facebook post, that person, yeah, Paul Gray mentioned down there, it's been around 12 months, not a lot of attention. Like, give it to someone else, sell it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh it's an iconic car, isn't it? The Rivian. Um I just fear if it ever came here retail, it would be quite expensive compared to what we get now. So that's the only problem.
SPEAKER_00This must be on its way back because I believe there's um these evaluation vehicles can only stay in the country for so long before they either have to be scrapped or sent back. So this might be one of the last times we see it, I think, if it's been around for 12 odd months.
SPEAKER_02Indeed. Yep. So anyway, it's good to see it around. Good spot. Whoever spotted that, Nick, looks like very good. Um, I like this comment from comment from Senecro. Uh, I'm not worried about the influx of brands into Australia. They all fall under the umbrella of only a few manufacturers. That's true. Got B White, Cherry, Julie, Chang'an, um, yeah, hopefully Xiaomi. Um, yeah, not many. It seems like a lot, but you sort of boil it down, it's only sort of four or five big conglomerates. Yeah. Okay. Zeekr 7X Hits 200,000 Orders
SPEAKER_02is Zika boasting 200,000 orders globally, now sold in more than 50 countries, Australia being one of them, and New Zealand being another. Very impressive. And certainly, I would argue the 7X has been uh one of the top sellers, obviously, in the last 12 months. It's done very well in this country and worldwide too. And the 200,000th order of the Zika 7X uh came from Mexico. On Mexico top selling luxury ore electric C segment. It is a good car, isn't it? It's one of the ones I do recommend when someone asks, Well, what's the Tesla alternative? It's gonna be the 7X. Yeah. Yeah. When is the 7X facelift coming? That's always a question, isn't it? When's the 900 volt one coming? Can't tell you. Don't know. Yeah.
Xiaomi SU7 & U7 Global Expansion
SPEAKER_02Okay. That's uh 7X. And oh Xiaomi. So Xiaomi. This is I'm hopeful when I saw this article today, uh, this week. Uh Xiaomi Auto launching a global website, social channels ahead of 2027 Europe entry. So it's finally leaving Chinese shores. Uh, and hopefully, fingers crossed Australia as well next year. We'll see. Hopefully, Riz knows something that we don't.
SPEAKER_00Uh look, without bursting anyone's bubble, but I think 2028 earliest for right-hand drive. Uh, they've they've been hiring quite a lot of people in Europe. Uh, a lot of them are like X Tesla and other supply chain experts. I think they're gonna put a lot of effort in in Europe. I believe they've also got a design center or something similar in Munich or an RD center. So yeah, Europe's a huge play where they want to sort of really make a bit of an impact with this with their lineup of vehicles. And then hopefully, yeah, next um 2028, we will start to see some right-hand drive markets. Um, the challenge with this particular car is that Xiaomi said they don't want to go in the affordable vehicle sort of market, they want to stay in the premium to sort of luxury sort of space with the new Sky Nomad brand as well. So in the right-hand drive world, Southeast Asia generally prefers more affordable models. So that's why the Gili EX2 does their so well there, the BYD at O3, the JQ J5s. Whereas, you know, that's a fairly large right-hand drive market that a premium or luxury uh brands can't really do a lot there. But then again, Zika's proven us wrong. So yeah, let's watch this space for 2028, the earliest.

SPEAKER_03I think for practicality reasons, the bigger one, the U7, YU7. Yeah. You know, bunnings trips, IKEA trips, just anything. Like you just want to chuck things in without worrying, without breaking your back. And it does it does look good too.

And now one of my favorite cars when I go to China is looking up for the uh the Li Autos. Uh, these things are massive. So Li Auto is going to launch the next gen Mega MPV on 2nd September, which is in a few days, with upgraded cabins, smart driving hardware, etc. etc. Uh, yeah, this is actually an MPV that has launched, not just concept, it is a big car. Uh yeah, weak demand of obviously we we know that, but hopefully that it will revive their fortunes a bit. So look at that. That that is wow, that is luxe, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03That's a lounge.
SPEAKER_02That is where did my picture go? There we go. Yeah, that's incredible. That's like, yeah, front facing, back facing tables, you name it.
SPEAKER_00It's one of the most luxurious vehicles. I've been in the back of this, and it is genuinely like Zika 009 level, if not even more amount of luxury in there. And this this car is actually very important because the first version of this car, which looked a little bit like a bullet train from some angles, um, was the first one of the first vehicles to have 5C charging. So this thing was charging at like 550 kilowatts at charges, like I think 10 to 80 percent in like under 10 minutes. So then the sales sort of plummeted for the brand, but yeah, the next version. I don't think they'll have a proper comeback, but if anyone wants that level of luxury and Lee Auto are going international.
SPEAKER_02Great, good. Uh yeah, tennis table, tennis table, that center section. See that happening. Hard to play ping pong in a moving car though. Uh, bigger than some apartment lounge rooms, yes, possibly. Yep, yes. So, yeah. Uh, have not sat in the back of this, but uh it'll be great to be driven in one, I'm sure. It's not a six-seater, I don't think. It's just got a longer wheelbase, just more space in the back. There must be market for this, right, guys. I mean, you know, like for example, the X-Pang G9L, just longer wheelbase, they just want more space, don't they?
SPEAKER_00Um, long wheelbase has been very common in China. Audi, BMW, Mercedes, they all do it with their older ice vehicles. So all these vehicles have an L. So Model Y L is in the first car with an L at the end of it. Uh, all the Audi's BMW Mercedes has the L versions there. It's just like, you know, C class L would mean you don't have to pay for an E class to get E-class sort of length. Um, so yeah, lots of space in the back.
SPEAKER_02Fair enough. Okay. And last bit of news, we have to report everything. So, yeah, there's a big been a recall um in China, affecting obviously a lot of cars here. Tesla X Yummy, Leap Motor. Um, it's to do with the the emergency door escape. I think it needs to be clearer. Um, so just uh not really a recall, what it is, but just to make it clear if in case of emergencies, uh, once people know where to grab to uh to escape, especially when you know inside some of these cars you don't know where to push. SPEAKER_02tonight. Has anyone been watching the robot games in China? Um been appearing on respective uh social media feeds. Anyone? I'm sure you all have. Um it's been quite comical watching them.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's the second humanoid games, and um, it's the first time they're they have to be autonomous. Uh I think last year they were remote controlled. But um, I thought I'd just put this one up. There's been so many. I could go on online watching them, but um, I'll just show you this running race that they had. There you go. I I love this little guy here. Like, look at the look at the arm swing on this thing, right? And I love how they just crash into the safety mat at the end.
SPEAKER_03Um they can't stop. That's how they stop.
SPEAKER_02Well, this guy's still going, he's got he's got a he's got a gammy arm. But apparently, I was re-watching someone explain about this running um style. This robot autonomously decided this was the best running um you know, motion for it, like the swinging torso, right? The most efficient way to run.
SPEAKER_01So, yeah. How are you describe that run if someone's listening to the podcast? It's sort of like leaning forward. Um yeah, and and the torso swinging the like the arms with it. Yeah, like they're almost looking 45 degrees towards the ground, yeah, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's like some of them catch fires, they hit each other or they smack into the gym mat at the end. Uh, there's like long jump, standing jump, weightlifting. There's one that robot that's smashed into the judge's table.
SPEAKER_01The weightlifting one is classic. It's hilarious.
SPEAKER_02Obstacle courses, commando rolls, like commando crawls. It's just it's fascinating. Um, yeah, just if you're watching on or listening on podcasts, just like search on Instagram or something, just type robot humanoid games, you'll you'll find it.
